mia & nelson

I have started keeping the words on client posts to a minimum because I find it difficult to write an original introduction every time I blog.  And anyway, isn’t the purpose of the photographs to tell their own story?

But I will interrupt that new protocol here to say that if my clients were a high school graduating class and I was in charge of dishing out superlatives, Mia would win Best Hair.  And she might get an award for those orange shoes, too.  Apparently she has good taste because her fiancé and her dog aren’t half bad, either.

Congrats on your engagment, M+N!

Chase + Logan

Logan has been my friend since age four when our lives intersected in a tap dance class.  Obviously a lot has changed in the last two decades, but Logan’s core qualities really haven’t.  She has always been–and I suspect will always be–passionate about the things and people she loves, fiercely loyal, dedicated to her ideals and remarkably confident.  We always knew it would take someone exceptional to keep up with Logs, and I have no doubt that Chase is that guy.  He complements and challenges Logan in all the right ways.  Logan and I recently had a really long talk about Chase and their engagement during which she said something that I think I will always remember.  She said she knew it was right to be with Chase because when she is with him she feels like she’s alone.  In other words: she can be 100% herself when she’s with him.  Because I am so independent myself, I think that’s just about the most romantic thing I’ve ever heard.

I think you’ll be able to see for yourself in these images just how much these two love each other.  It’s tangible.

C + L: I hope you love the photos.  I loved taking them.

Chase + Logan : First Installment

I will do a full post about Chase + Logan next week, but I couldn’t resist this little sneak peek from their engagement session.

Also, Logan, I know you’re dying to see it.

Lindsay + Jake

I first met Lindsay at the dog park, which was great because then when she asked me to do her + Jake’s engagement photos, I felt like I sort of already knew what I was getting myself into. I hadn’t met Jake, but I was pretty sure that Lindsay was the laid back type, which is definitely my style. Jake was immediately likable too, and that likability factor was multiplied by how into each other they were. They’re one of those couples you only have to know for five minutes to know that they’re 100% meant to be.

We did the shoot at Riverfront Park, downtown Denver, which is an awesome place to shoot. It was an absolutely perfect fall day with brilliant sunshine. It’s a well-known doggie mecca and after I finished the shoot with Jake + Lindsay I came across this teeny 11-week-old Boxer puppy named Roxy. I couldn’t resist pulling the camera out for a couple shots. (I’m sure someone out there has a logical explanation for this, but Boxer puppies are WAY smaller than other puppies, which is crazy considering they grow up to be about the same size as my dog… I swear, Roux was never this small).
