By all accounts Dogbooth was a success. I photographed over 50 dogs in three hours, and raised over $500 for the chosen rescue groups. It was crazy, but it was crazy fun.
There is a (much) more complete entry coming soon, so stay tuned.
Thank you to everyone who showed up; your support is much appreciated!
Hey Denverites, mark your calendars for Saturday, May 22nd. Alex, owner of the fabulous Zen Dog Pet Boutique and I are collaborating to bring you Dogbooth 2010. We wanted to put together a unique doggy event to benefit dog rescue, and I couldn’t resist the opportunity to adorn other people’s dogs with props. (If your dog is anti-prop, that’s ok. We will find a work-around.) I will be drawing inspiration from here, here, here and here, among others. You’ve never seen anything like it.
My right bicep and right index finger are recovering from a long weekend of shooting. Saturday was the Saving Giants book release + gallery show in Denver. Roux was invited and dressed for the occasion. Those who were there can attest to the fact that she was interested only in gleaning cheese out of the hands of unsuspecting party guests.
(The super cool sculpture exhibition is the artwork of Craig Robb).
All the wonderful organizers from Big Dogs Huge Paws did a really fabulous job putting the event together, and I met some really wonderful new people.
The book is available for order in either softcover or hardcover (they are both lovely, but the hardcover is beyond beautiful). I am really excited about this project and really believe it can both help support BDHP and spread the word about the importance of dog rescue.
And this, my friends, is the book in its entirety:
